Told my buddy tonight, send him to the pen. Maybe there was some foresight to that skipped start, if this brain trust is capable of foresight. Wacha looked good early last couple starts. Send him to AAA to learn the warm up routine and bring that two inning goodness back up to fortify the pen. Might work.

Leave him in the rotation and then trade him along with Grichuk and a lower level prospect or two for Samardzja, Kontos, and cash in return. With Wainwright a FA in 2019, Lynn a FA next season, and Wacha's health questions, we could use an additional starter to help fill the ranks until the kids are ready to force themselves into the majors.

Many of us have advocated moving Wacha to the pen for a long time now, due to his problems staying healthy in the rotation.
Even so, he has been darn good this season as a starter, last night's outing notwithtstanding.

At the very least let him skip a turn once a month I still do not think he will last a full year left as is.
