    Wacha

Time to send him to the pen he cannot get past the 4th inning or shut him down for a few weeks.

Told my buddy tonight, send him to the pen. Maybe there was some foresight to that skipped start, if this brain trust is capable of foresight. Wacha looked good early last couple starts. Send him to AAA to learn the warm up routine and bring that two inning goodness back up to fortify the pen. Might work.

I don't think Mike would know how to handle him as a reliever.

That is why I mentioned a few weeks off I doubt either will happen with Gump calling the shots.

Leave him in the rotation and then trade him along with Grichuk and a lower level prospect or two for Samardzja, Kontos, and cash in return. With Wainwright a FA in 2019, Lynn a FA next season, and Wacha's health questions, we could use an additional starter to help fill the ranks until the kids are ready to force themselves into the majors.

Just an idea and nothing more.

Leaving him in the rotation only puts more pressure on a bullpen that is already imploding.

Many of us have advocated moving Wacha to the pen for a long time now, due to his problems staying healthy in the rotation.

Even so, he has been darn good this season as a starter, last night's outing notwithtstanding.

At the very least let him skip a turn once a month I still do not think he will last a full year left as is.

They just skipped him two weeks ago.

The Dodgers had his number last night. Good teams will do that to you.

He's usually very good for the first 6-8 weeks.

Of course, he breaks down this time every year. Not that I'd expect you to notice.

Yeah, great idea. He could become one of Mike Matheny's "trusted relievers". That'll fix him.

Does he know how to handle any reliever?

Quite literally the only team in the majors that cannot hit Samardzija is the Cardinals. The entire rest of the league has been blowing the guy up.
