The Jays have handed Pillar a 2-game suspension for his comments. Not the MLB, this is a suspension given by the team.

Where's paulie to weigh in on this? He's running late.

Poor babies haven't had a day off in awhile. Those 24 year old #1 picks sure are getting worn out!
And the day after the rainout in which it didn't rain, the Cubs drubbed the Brewers today.

19 saves for Greg Holland already. With Colorado of all clubs. Impressive.

So today a fan reaches out over the basket and grabbed a Kris Bryant "home run." The Giants try to call down to the dugout to challenge the call...and the phone mysteriously doesn't work at that exact moment. Minutes later, the phone is working fine. What a coincidence!

Every team in the division lost last night except for the Reds. NL Central might be the weakest division in baseball. At least up to now.

The NL has been like this for 5-6 years now.
I can only remember one time in the recent past where I felt a playoff caliber ballclub has missed out on the post-season. By and large, there are only 3-4 clubs that are actual good baseball teams, 5-6 that are actively tanking or just flat suck and then the squishy middle where the Cardinals have taken up residence of late - teams that are largely irrelevant. They'll beat the teams at the bottom, lose to the teams at the top and ultimately exist to be the bit players in another team's story.
Lots of bad baseball teams these days.

Good lord, what exactly was Posey doing there?
That's just bizarre. I've literally never seen a catcher stand there and let his pitcher get charged. It really does seem like Posey kinda decided that Strickland had it coming for drilling him after Harper pretty well stole his soul in the playoffs a couple of years ago.
Those swings from Harper really altered Strickland's career trajectory, IMO. The Giants looked for all the world like they were breaking him in as a closer and suddenly they just didn't trust him anymore. Now Melancon is there and Strickland's a setup guy for life.
But hey, Strickland's the guy that fed him those pitches to destroy. No cause for holding a grudge...

Posey likely knew what was going to happen today. Strickland drills Harper & today someone drills Posey. Posey probably said "**** this guy, I'm probably getting plunked tomorrow because Strickland made a shitty pitch 2 seasons ago & can't let it go. He'll get what he gets."
I also saw a video last night of the SF bench clearing. Everyone ran out on the field & Mad Bum, turned and calmly walked into the tunnel like nothing was happening. The guy is rehabbing an injury & probably couldn't (and shouldn't) have done a damn thing anyway, but I still found it odd. Maybe everyone really does hate Strickland?

Seems that way. Maybe Posey's the dick? I know Belt and Posey have had their moments.
A few weeks ago the Dodgers and someone were all out of the field and Kershaw was just out there warming up. Said he was just there to do his job, wasn't worried about the extracurriculars.

Harper only gets 4.
So evidently MLB agreed with Stricklands teammates...dude kinda needed his ass kicked.
That's just funny right there.

If he didn't botch the helmet toss I wonder what he would have gotten.

The bandwagon is out of control, the first results for all star voting came out and the 25-25 Chicago Cub fans have Jason Heyward starting in the outfield. But the game counts for home field advantage.
Makes sense to me!

It had nothing to do with Jon Mabry.

Should have traded Carp and Mabry.

He would have done NOTHING for the remainder of his stint in St. Louis. I was listening to the Reds radio broadcast today (don't ask me why) and in between their suicidal thoughts on their own pitching staff they were talking about how they've never seen Adams wait back on pitches like he is right now. Like it was that easy to diagnose and fix the guy. And our coaching staff missed it.
